Lemongrass Turkey Burger

Yes, I'm trying to Vietnamese-ize this American classic, the BURGER! What a great way to enjoy a healthy burger by using lean ground turkey. But it doesn't have to be boring, just add in lemongrass, garlic and sweet onions and voila, you got a nicely flavored burger to sink your teeth into.  Check out my easy recipe below.

RECIPE for 3 servings

1 bl of ground turkey
1/2 cup of diced sweet onion
2 tbs of minced lemongrass
2 tbs of minced garlic
1 tbs of oyster sauce
1 egg
1/4 cup of breadcrumbs

3 hamburger buns, any kind you prefer
3-4 rings of red onion
3 thick slices of tomatoes
2-3 handfuls of baby spinach
3 thick slices of cheese, your pick
Mayo, ketchup

Burger meat:
Saute the onion, garlic with a little dash of salt for a couple of minutes. Add in the lemongrass at the very end and turn off heat. Cool the mixture in the fridge for 10 mins.

In a large bowl, combine the meat, sauteed onion mixture, egg, breadcrumb, and oyster sauce. Don't over work the meat. Combine using your hands or spatula. Take the bowl back to the fridge to cool off the meat for 15-20 mins.

After cooling off the meat. Wet your hands with a drop of oil and make into a baseball-sized portion and flat it to the size of your bun. Make a dimple in the middle of the patty.

Spray a little canola oil to the frying pan. On medium high heat, cook the patties one or two at a time depends on the size of your pan. Cook for about 6 mins each side. It's poultry so it will take a little while to cook.

Pan-grill the buns using a little mayo and face it down to "grill" the buns.

Assemble your burger the way you want it. Then eat it up!
