Happy Thanksgiving everyone! In my family, we usually have Thanksgiving meals spread out among various families/in-laws and such, during the holiday week. It's also pot luck style most of the time so we can all bring a variety of dishes to share. I'm going with sauteed vegetables this year, and french green beans and brussels sprouts are among my favorites. Let's throw in some nuts and have a scrumptious green plate of veggies to accompany the turkey this year.
RECIPE for 6 servings
1 lb of fresh brussels sprouts, quartered
4 thick slices of bacon, cubed
1 handful of toasted walnut, rough chopped
1 tbs of minced garlic
1 tbs of minced shallot
Soy sauce to taste
Add bacon to hot pan. Render the bacon until it looks golden . Add in garlic and shallots and saute for a 2-3 mins or until fragrant. Then add in the sprouts and saute until the sprouts has a nice golden char to its edge, just 5-6 mins. Add in the walnuts. Add the soy sauce to your taste.
